How did I realize that precious stones can help me be creative?!
Well, it’s been frustrating me for some time now that I can’t create designs for the gems I cut. I had bought the software more than a year ago who can help me do this. It’s just that I couldn’t figure out angles, combinations between symmetries and their reflections.
One day I was looking through the collection of gems and making an effort to choose a suitable one to be cutted. Instinctively I reached for the bag of red and pink garnets. I’ve put them on the desk in front of the laptop and opened Gem Cut Studio, the software in question. I had watched the tutorials on YouTube a few times but something was bothering me so I gave up.
Even Cristi, my mentor, once explained to me what are the steps. At that time I thought I had caught the “movement” but once I got home, I realized that I still didn’t understand. To me it was a nebula. I had the impression that I needed to have a man’s mind to be able to create a design from scratch. Absolutely stupid beliefs that we women get into our heads sometimes.
That day something was different. From somewhere inside me I seemed to know how to move and what to do to project a design. In the end I had a complete diagram. It was far from being perfect, but it was made by me. I figured out what “Symmetry” and “Mirror” means, I figured out how to overlap the angles with the index values. I was amazed too, but besides that, I was proud. I kept wondering how this can be possible.
The answer came to me when I noticed the Garnets forgotten in front of the laptop. I looked to see what properties they have. I found the following: “This type of garnet gives you the power to achieve what your heart desires while increasing your confidence. It is a stone that will also increase your creativity and manifesting abilities.” In the pictures are the two types of raw garnets: Rhodolite (Pink) and Pyrope (Red).
